I havn't posted in a long time on here , so thought I'd better ease back in with some re working of some an older assets i previously made for Fable 2. I really enjoyed the oportunity to design the towns and villages of Fable 2 and partly some of Fable 3 before leaving to do other things. So here is a re-working of an older scene I once attempted but was never really that pleased with it so I have added a few extra elements, and re-composed and re-lit the scene hopefully a little better than last time. Assets all modeled in XSI, rendered in passes in 3ds max with Vray, and comped up in Photoshop. Hope you enjoy.

So here you have it. Not sure if it ever made it into the game, as I left Fable to work overseas. But I really enjoyed my time working there.
Hope you like it, and as always would be superb to get some crits on this.
Cheers

I decided to return to an older piece of work I had started about 3yrs ago. Inspired by the films Metropolis, and Blade runner, I wanted to create a brutalistic vision of a city built up through time, layering of architecture and floating highways.
A piecemeal city with various different styles of architecture, from the clean metropolis inspired central building to the brutalist concrete buildings in the foreground.
Built in XSI, rendered in max and vray, post in photoshop.
Be good to get some opinions.
I wanted to create something in a similiar vain though not a copy of the apartment in the film. I'm really interested in the layout, as well as the lighting in this piece. I have designed and modeled the entire apartment but chose this image as perhaps my personal favourite. If people are interested i will post some more. Be great to get peoples feedback on this.

My rendering of a steam powered monorail car.

I have always been fascinated by steam powered technology and wanted to create something that was a little different, yet still grounded in some kind of reality. A piece inspired by the early victorian steam pioneers.

I have yet to add in the drive chain between the large drive wheel and the small guide wheel on top of the car. Maybe this has been removed for maintenance
There is an intentional gap between the two large drive gears, and not a through axle, this is to allow the rails to be supported by heavy steel overhead gantries.
The large gear wheels on the top connected to the small guide wheels, are I imagined to be on some kind of ratchet to allow the car to drive up steep inclines.

This car is only a small car with the capacity for say 6-10 passengers. I would however next like to design perhaps a larger more impressive car that would have a larger capcity and be more luxurious in its appearance, or maybe even a more industrious looking freight car that could tow small mineral carts behind.
Cheers
